Lontreau Health Inc. ("Lontreau," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Lontreau.edu platform — an online health education and community membership service. Our registered office is in Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register for a membership, activate a free trial, or contact us. This includes your name, email address, and payment information (processed securely by our third-party payment processor — we do not store full card details). We also collect usage data automatically when you interact with the platform, including pages visited, content accessed, session duration, and device and browser information. This data is collected through cookies and similar technologies and is used solely to improve your experience and administer the platform.
We use your personal information to: (a) create and manage your membership account; (b) process payments and send transaction confirmations; (c) deliver platform content, course materials, and community access; (d) send service-related communications including account updates, renewal reminders, and platform announcements; (e) respond to your enquiries and provide member support; (f) improve the platform through aggregated, anonymised analytics; and (g) comply with our legal obligations. We will not use your information for purposes other than those listed above without your consent.
Under PIPEDA, we rely on your consent as the primary basis for collecting and using your personal information. By creating an account or activating a free trial, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at hello@lontreau.com, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawal of consent may affect our ability to provide you with access to the platform.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share your information only with: (a) Circle (our community platform provider), which processes membership registrations and hosts the community space; (b) payment processors for the purpose of completing transactions; (c) analytics providers on an aggregated, anonymised basis; and (d) law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required by law. All third-party service providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
Our website uses essential cookies necessary for the site to function, and analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. Analytics cookies collect data in an aggregated, anonymised form. You may disable cookies in your browser settings; however, doing so may affect the functionality of the site. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. If you cancel your membership, we will retain your account information for up to 24 months to facilitate re-subscription and comply with our legal and financial record-keeping obligations, after which it will be securely deleted or anonymised.
Under PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25, you have the right to: (a) access the personal information we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information; (c) withdraw consent to the use of your information; (d) request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention obligations; and (e) lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at www.priv.gc.ca if you believe your privacy rights have been violated. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Our platform is hosted on secure infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. While we take these measures seriously, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Some of our service providers are located outside Canada, including in the United States. When your information is transferred outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We take steps to ensure that any such transfers are made in accordance with PIPEDA and that your information receives a comparable level of protection.
The Lontreau.edu platform is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify active members of material changes by email or through the platform. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the platform following notice of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
